BIOSINT

Project duration: January 2023 – January 2026

In line with the framework and strategies of education through Internationalization at Home (IAH), as well as the internationalization of the curriculum and study programs (IoC), the University of Medicine is a partner, together with the University of Leuven, Belgium; “Luigj Gurakuqi” University, Shkodër, Albania; University of East Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina; University of Timișoara, Romania; University of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina; University of Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina; and University of Podgorica, Montenegro, in the project “Strengthening capacities and digital competences in biomedical education through internationalization at home – BIOSINT”, ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE-STRAND-2.

The objectives of the project are:

• Analysis of the current situation in the framework of internationalization;
• Internationalization of the curriculum;
• Promotion of staff and student mobilities, etc.

The BIOSINT project aims to strengthen digital capacities, as well as intercultural skills and attitudes at both individual and institutional levels, to improve the education and development of students in biomedical sciences, academic staff, and administrative personnel of the participating higher education institutions (HEIs).

The proposed project theme will be implemented by HEIs from the WB region (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Albania), while HEIs from Belgium, Romania, and Serbia will play advisory roles and serve as knowledge transfer partners. The WB HEIs are currently lacking in curriculum internationalization, virtual mobility, and the necessary services/capacities for internationalization. Therefore, significant impact from the project results is expected.

Within the framework of the project “Strengthening capacities and digital competences in biomedical education through internationalization at home – BIOSINT”, ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE-STRAND-2, meetings were held on June 7–8 and June 27–28, respectively in Ghent, Belgium and Podgorica, Montenegro.
