Continuing Education for Health Professionals is the process through which health professionals update their knowledge and skills throughout their lives to meet the needs of patients, health services, and their professional development.
The Agency for Quality Assurance in Health and Social Care (ASCK), established in 2008, has managed and supported professional development in the healthcare sector through the creation and promotion of standards in the field of continuing education and the coordination of the recertification program, with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of healthcare services in Albania. In order to ensure standards and their quality, with VKM no. 440, dated 27.5. 2017, the Albanian government approved that these activities be carried out by accredited providers.

Continuing education in the health network is in line with the mission and vision as well as the development strategy of UMT, which aims not only to provide professional employees at the end of their university education for the health system, but also to promote and provide education for health sector employees throughout their lives, such as continuing education and lifelong learning.
